Worship with Us

"And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers."

Acts 2:42

As Christ calls us to fellowship, we invite you to come and worship God with us. All are welcome & encouraged.

During every regular service, Communion is offered to any and every faithful Christian who has been baptised in the Trinitarian formula. If you do not wish to seek communion, we cordially invite you to come forward to receive a blessing.

Below are the details of our regular services.

Sunday Service - 9:00am

Come and experience our weekly family Eucharist every Sunday from 9am. We have plenty of room for visitors and new parishioners – all are welcome.

The liturgical service is led by the Rev. Noel Cox, who is joined by a roster of liturgists and readers. Our service uses hymns which are complemented by our beautiful pipe organ. This is one of the few remaining pipe organs still operating in an Auckland church.

This service uses the distinctive A New Zealand Prayer Book – He Karakia Mihinare o Aotearoa, which adapts Anglican identity to our unique context. Assembled by a commission of church liturgists, lay people, and clergy in New Zealand, this guide offers services and prayers for holy days as well as for weekly services and personal meditation. It preserves the ethnos of Anglican spirituality and incorporates the liturgical insights from modern scholarship. There are Māori-inspired illustrations throughout.

The service lasts around an hour & is followed by morning tea.

Contributions are welcome for the Auckland City Mission Food Bank.

Saturday Service - 12:15pm

Every Saturday, we hold a smaller, contemplative Eucharist using the beautiful & rich 1662 Book of Common Prayer.

Adored for its reverent & alluring language, the BCP has been a staple of Anglican identity for centuries. Ultimately compiled and directed mostly by St. Thomas Cranmer, much of the content of the BCP is an Early Modern English translation of ancient liturgies and Scripture. This deeply biblical prayer book has shaped Christian worship in the English-speaking world. In the Church in New Zealand, this is no exception, where it is an irrevocably binding formulary, and has served as the main liturgy of worship for much of this province's history.

The Gospel & readings are preached from the Authorised 1611 King James Bible. Being a smaller and more intimate service without hymns, this lasts around half an hour. It is a beautiful opportunity for reflection, prayer, and simple but liturgically-reverent worship.
